Paul Gerard is Senior Media Advisor, Ministry of Research and Innovation
Guy Kawasaki is the Oprah Winfrey of Silicon Valley. The former Apple evangelist disseminates advice about entrepreneurship, how to operate a business like a start-up and counsels his 340,000 followers on Twitter with dozens of ghost written tweets per day including insights such as “How to innovate like a pirate” and “Is cork the greenest option for your countertop?”
Like Oprah with her OWN television channel, Guy aggregates information through his own company Alltop which neatly summarizes current events into headlines for those unable or unwilling to scour the countless news articles appearing online every day.
Guy is also a brand whose main function it would seem is to promote Guy. He has written ten books and can be hired to give one of seven different talks depending whether you want to hear him tell you how to run a start-up or, well, how to run a start-up.
The latest book is called Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions and it opens with the quote is “Many men can make a fortune but very few can build a family.” Odd, isn’t the opposite in fact the case?
