Building our expertise in cleaning up mine waste
Lead researcher: Dr. Christopher G. Weisener
Number of researchers benefiting: 5

The University of Windsor’s Dr. Christopher G. Weisener is studying metals in mine waste environments that have undergone treatment using sustainable ecological remediation technologies. He will see whether these wastes remain stable and do not release toxic metal into the environment. This work will contribute to Ontario’s expertise on mine waste restoration and to the commercialization of sustainable remediation technology. It will also train much-needed professionals on sustainable technologies in Ontario.
