Projects Funded Across Ontario

Ontario is providing $11.5 million to support 82 emerging researchers and their teams at 21 institutions across Ontario. Each lead researcher will receive $140,000 through the Early Researcher Awards program.

Ontario is supporting world-leading research and attracting investment in three sectors where the province already is, or aims to be, a global leader:

• Life sciences and advanced health technologies - 44 projects ($6.1 million investment)
• Bioeconomy, cleantech and environment – 14 projects ($1.9 million investment)
• Digital media and information and communications technologies – 8 projects ($1.1 million investment)
• Other areas of basic and applied research – 16 projects ($2.2 million investment)
