Helping children get the best math education possible

Math is an essential skill for the 21st century, but do we know what strong mathematics learning looks like in Ontario? Dr. Alex Lawson and her team at the new Multi-data Convergence Lab at Lakehead University aim to answer that question, by collecting and analyzing large-scale data sets such as provincial achievement scores. This will be the first Canadian research of its kind and will help educators develop curriculum and professional development material based on solid evidence as to what works best.
