Ontario is helping to provide the best health care for our children by investing in a new research centre at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)
.
The state-of-the-art Research & Learning Tower
will bring together more than 2,000 researchers, currently working at six different locations across the GTA, to work on new kids’ health discoveries under one roof. This collaboration will lead to better health care for our children and help SickKids remain one of the top five pediatric centres in the world.
Ontario is on track to provide better health care for all Ontarians. The new research centre is a key part of the McGuinty government’s plan to improve access to care for our children and give our families peace of mind.
“Research saves lives, and today’s discoveries are tomorrow’s medical miracles. SickKids’ remarkable history shows us that, by investing in research, we can improve health care outcomes for our children, our most precious resource, and their families.”
— Glen Murray, Minister of Research and Innovation and MPP for Toronto Centre
