Dr. Spencer C.H. Barrett

Dr. Spencer Barrett leads a world-renowned research group working on the genetics and evolution of plant reproduction at the University of Toronto, where he holds a Canada Research Chair. His pioneering work has had a profound influence on the understanding of biological invasions, weed management strategies and conservation biology. Dr. Barrett has published more than 200 research articles, edited three books and spoken at 45 international symposia over the past 12 years. His laboratory has attracted many talented graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and visiting scientists.
