The Ministry is inviting applications from individuals in Ontario, or elsewhere, to serve as members of the peer review panel for the Early Researcher Award (ERA) program. The ERA panel membership offers a rewarding opportunity to participate in and contribute to Ontario’s research capacity.
The ERA peer review panel is an independent, impartial team of experts from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds and has the qualities required for an equitable and informed review of ERA applications. Members should have a distinguished research background, experience in reviewing research, and an understanding of research career development acquired, for example, as an academic or industry research department head. The main task of the review panel is to produce an evaluation report for each ERA application, prioritize the applications, and make recommendations to the Ontario Research Fund Advisory Board.
The Ministry will provide reimbursement for expenses related to panel membership, including travel and accommodation, in accordance with Ministry of Government Services guidelines.
Individuals interested in serving on the ERA peer review panel should complete the Application Form (Word - 42 KB) and attach a curriculum vitae (maximum 5 pages), highlighting relevant research contributions and experience, including publications, patents, awards; membership on peer review committees; leadership positions held etc.
The initial ERA panel was established early in 2006. Individuals can express an interest in becoming a panel member at any time in the future. Applications will be held for three years.
