The Teachers' Science and Technology Outreach Program (TSTOP) provides Ontario elementary and secondary science and technology teachers with opportunities to participate in leading-edge research in publicly funded institutions.
The objective of TSTOP is to: advance teachers' scientific knowledge and understanding of research underway in Ontario, share the excitement of research with their students, and develop an ongoing relationship between the classroom and researchers.
Who's eligible to apply?
Ontario elementary and secondary school teachers who teach science and technology courses.
What funding is available?
The Ministry of Research and Innovation will provide each TSTOP institution with funds to support "Teacher Research Experience" expenses, such as daily commuting costs, and "Student Outreach Experience" costs, such as travel costs to visit the host institution during the school year.
Please note: TSTOP is a voluntary program on the part of both the research institution and teacher. No honoraria are provided. The Teachers' Science and Technology Outreach Program is a discretionary, non-entitlement program.
